I absolutely adore blueberries. Do you love blueberries? I hope so, because I've got a few new blueberry recipes up my sleeve that I'll be sharing with you over the next couple of weeks! I'm a sucker for those blue and purple gems. So soft and sweet, and perfect to eat in so many ways. My friends at Wish Farms sent me over some of their fresh blueberries and I've been having way too much fun baking up some yummy treats. Plus, I've been eating them by the handful. I can't help myself, they're just too good!

Happy first day of spring my friends! I'm really excited that spring is here, but also baffled at how quickly it came. It seems like we just started a new year, and here we are already in a new season. I mean, I'm not complaining. Even though we had a very mild winter I'm happy to put it behind me and move on. But it just seems like the older I get, the faster time goes. Anyone else feel that way? My "baby" has just two short months of high school left before he graduates, and my oldest has just a few weeks left of classes before he finishes his junior year in college. I honestly don't know where these years have went!

It may not feel like it, but spring really is just around the corner! The first official day of spring is this coming Monday, but as I sit here and type this there is snow falling and it's about 30 degrees outside. Maybe Mother Nature is confused. Doesn't she know that it usually rains in the spring, not snows? Living in Michigan I never expect anything because well, it's Michigan. Weather can change hourly here.

It may only be February, but I'm already dreaming of spring. It's hard to believe this month is almost half over, and before we know it March will be here. I can't wait to see green grass, green tree buds, and hear the birds singing. Surprisingly enough, this winter has been pretty mild here in Michigan (knock on wood!) and I've been lucky to hear some birds chirping lately. Maybe it was the birds that got me in the spring mood and pushed me to make this Lemon Strawberry Pie. Or maybe I just wanted pie....

Spring has finally sprung and I've really been enjoying the beautiful weather we're having in Michigan. With this weather starts farmers market season, which I am so excited about! I love strolling through the market on a Saturday morning and picking up fresh vegetables from local growers to bring home to my family.

Speaking of fresh veggies, I'm really excited to share this amazing Asparagus, Hazelnuts, and Mint with Quinoa and Lemon Vinaigrette recipe from Cara Mangini's new cookbook, The Vegetable Butcher!  Let me start off by saying it is a stunning and inspiring cookbook. Cara shows us in step-by-step photos how to break down a butternut squash, cut a cauliflower into steaks, turn carrots into coins and parsnips into matchsticks, and so much more. There are more than 150 simple recipes that put vegetables front and center, from this dish, to Kohlrabi Carpaccio, to a Parsnip-Ginger Layer Cake for dessert. It’s everything you need to know to make extraordinary vegetable dishes!

I love lemons. And I especially love cooking with lemons. Whether I'm pan frying chicken and making a glorious lemon sauce to go over the top, or making a delicious lemony dessert, lemons are definitely my favorite citrus fruit.  Meyer lemons are even better, as they have a rich lemon flavor, but they are sweeter and not so tart.

These Meyer Lemon Bars have a buttery shortbread crust and are topped with a luscious lemon filling. Dusted with a little powdered sugar {OK, a lot of powdered sugar!}, they’re as beautiful as they are delicious.

Even though we had snow showers this past weekend, I know Spring is coming! In fact, every day this week the forecast shows lots of sunshine and increasing temperatures, so to say I'm excited is an understatement. To get me in the Spring spirit while I looked at snow falling outside my windows, I made a loaf of this bright and refreshing Lemon Poppy Seed Bread. Lemons and other citrus fruits just make me happy, you know what I mean?

Mini Lemon Poppyseed Donuts with Lemon Glaze

These adorable bite sized donuts are bursting with fresh lemon flavor in each bite!
It's really no secret that I love donuts. Donuts of every shape, size and flavor. Filled donuts, glazed donuts, cake donuts...I'll eat 'em all. My waistline tells me differently though! So I've come to love baking donuts at home. I've made several variations over the years that have been absolutely delicious, but this new recipe that I came up really takes the cake! And it's perfect for summer.

These little mini donuts are bursting with fresh lemon flavor and are also topped with a sweet lemon glaze. The best part is how teeny tiny they are! Perfect for tiny hands to handle, and especially great for portion control, these Mini Lemon Poppyseed Donuts with Lemon Glaze are my new favorite. Made with the new Mrs. Fields Cutie Pie™ Mini Donut Pan, they are quick and simple to make and super adorable!

Iced Almond-Lemon Loaf Cake

This luscious cake is tender and lemony, and has an extra citrus kick from the
sweet lemon icing that's drizzled over the top.

I'm a huge yogurt lover. Even as a child I can remember getting yogurt cups at the store with my mom. Strawberry and blueberry were always my favorite. Of course nowadays my taste has expanded and I love much more than just those two flavors.

Not only do I eat yogurt for breakfast and as a snack, but I love to cook and bake with it as well. If you've been reading my blog long, then you know this all to well. From Mini Banana Cream Parfaits to Cardamom Pecan Pound Cake to Blackberry Frozen Yogurt, I use yogurt in many ways.

Meyer Lemon Cupcakes

Brighten up any day with these light and luscious Meyer Lemon Cupcakes!

I know it's Fall and it's cold out, but when I received a bag of Meyer Lemons in my latest Door to Door Organics delivery I couldn't resist making a special summery treat. It doesn't matter the season or the temperature, we can always use something to brighten our day! Don't you agree?

These Meyer Lemon Cupcakes are light and airy and totally delicious. Make a batch for your family or friends or anyone who needs a quick pick me up. It's a simple recipe and other than the lemons, the rest of the ingredients should be in your pantry already!

Spice Cake with Lemon Curd Filling

A moist and tender spice caked filled with a surprise of luscious lemon curd!

This month our Blogger Recipe Challenge group was fortunate enough to be sponsored by Love Cooking Company. They sent each of us a Mrs. Fields Fill N Flip Round Baking Pan and put us to work! This pan is like nothing I'd ever seen before. It's unique design leaves a spot in the center of the cake to add a filling, then the other half of the cake goes on top and covers it all up! Super cool if you ask me.
