This simple but elegant Shrimp Scampi with Linguine is perfect for a special occasion,
but it also makes a great quick weeknight meal!
Shrimp Scampi with Linguine | The Chef Next Door
I love seafood, but I don't cook with it nearly enough. {Other than a box of fish fillets...I know, don't judge!!} Cooking with fresh seafood is something I really want to get better at this year. Scallops, shrimp, fish, I enjoy it all! Lucky for me, my kids like it too.

I decided I wanted to make a really nice {OK, fancy!} dinner for my boys on Valentine's Day. After all, they are my favorite Valentines ever! I wanted this dish to be simple to make, and something that we could have often, not just on special occasions. This Shrimp Scampi with Linguine was the winner, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

#MyFarm2Table Dinner with Door to Door Organics

I've been a happy customer of Door to Door Organics for quite some time now, probably for at least two years. Since it's just me and my two boys, I receive the Bitty Mixed Box, which is the perfect amount of fruits and veggies for the three of us. It's awesome because you can customize your box each week, making swaps if you'd like, and also adding other groceries to your order. I often add eggs and specialty breads, sometimes snacks, and pretty much every order you'll find Quinn's Hickory Smoked Cheddar Popcorn in my box. To say I'm obsessed with that popcorn is an understatement. Just ask my kids!

Anyway, enough about my popcorn obsession! You can read all about the Door to Door service in my original reveal post. One of the recent trends is farm to table dinners. I'm sure you've heard about them before, but what it means is to bring fresh, local, artisanal foods directly to your table. I hosted a farm to table dinner recently using a Local Farm Box plus a curated selection of local foods, courtesy of Door to Door Organics, and will be sharing some recipes with you today.

Blood Orange Olive Oil Cake

This cake is light, tender and full of fresh citrus flavors. It's so delicious, it won't last long!

I love citrus fruits. I also love to bake with citrus fruits. They make everything so light and flavorful, and I never feel guilty about eating dessert. This time of year is perfect for all things citrus. From oranges to lemons to tangerines, I want to devour every single one.

I received some beautiful blood oranges in my recent Door to Door Organics delivery, and could hardly wait to make something with them. It took me a bit to decide what to do, but I am incredibly excited over the recipe I developed.

Online Grocery Shopping with Door to Door Organics!

I don't know about you, but I go to the grocery store a lot. I mean, A LOT. It seems like I'm there every day, or at least every other day, picking up a few things here and there that I've forgotten. As much as I love my local store, sometimes it's a pain to run out all the time. I'm sure you can relate! That's why I'm so excited to have found Door to Door Organics. They've made my life so much easier!

The premise of the service is simple - they offer a weekly or bi-weekly delivery service of organic produce right to your door. You can choose the size of the box, and whether you want to receive all vegetables, all fruits, or a mixture of both. I receive the Bitty Mixed Box, which works perfectly for me and my two boys.

Leek, Arugula and Goat Cheese Frittata

This fresh, beautiful frittata just screams Spring and is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light meal!

Although it's been quite cold here in Michigan this last week, the sun has been shining almost every day and the snow has all melted. It's lovely to look outside and see blue skies and bright sun! Even though it's cold, the sun makes it feel so much warmer. And I know the warm temperatures are coming our way soon.

My Spring is already off to a great start and I have some exciting news to share with you all....I recently partnered up with Door to Door Organics (DTDO) and I am now a DTDO Brand Ambassador!
