Mini Glazed Vanilla Bean Scones

All month long our Blogger Recipe Challenge group is recreating our favorite restaurant dishes. These can be from chain restaurants, or even from our favorite local destinations. I plan to share recipes from both, as we have some great food around town.

My intent is to not only recreate the recipe, but to also make it healthier if possible. The Petite Vanilla Bean Scones from Starbucks are definitely a favorite of mine. Whenever I stop at Starbucks for coffee, I either get a scone or their delicious Lemon Pound Cake (which I will be remaking later!) So I decided to recreate the scone recipe at home.

The scones turned out perfectly. Nice and tender on the inside with a little crunch on the edges. I dipped the scones in a vanilla bean glaze that was a perfect compliment, but not too sweet.

Vanilla Bean Bundt Cake

I love a good cake. Especially a Bundt cake. I've made many a Bundt over the years, but this Vanilla Bean version is probably my favorite. By using whole vanilla beans, you can see the tiny little black flecks throughout the cake. And while it's baking, the smell in the house is out of this world.

This cake makes the perfect holiday dessert. Simple yet beautiful. And it's very easy to make.

If you're feeling especially festive, you could drizzle strawberries or cherries over the top, but I think the vanilla glaze is just perfect.
