The holidays are quickly approaching whether we are ready or not. This year truly has seemed to fly by and it feels like it was just summer! Nonetheless, I've been in the kitchen recipe testing and starting to plan my menus. One of my favorite parts about Christmas is my parents coming over early in the morning and spending the entire day with us. We take our time opening presents while enjoying coffee and hot chocolate, then sit down to a breakfast feast. Overnight casseroles, breads, and things like baked french toast or pancakes are favorites around here. This Cinnamon Cranberry Pull Apart Loaf featuring Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing is not only delicious, but it's easy to make and can feed the whole family!

I just love the holiday season. I love everything about it, from the decorating to the twinkling lights to the baking to the time spent with family and friends. It truly is a magical time of year. One of my most favorite things is the joy of giving. At this point in my life I enjoy giving much more than receiving. I think that happens to us all as we grow older, especially if we have children. There isn't anything quite as special as watching your kids open gifts and seeing their faces light up! But giving doesn't always mean buying gifts. You can give homemade gifts, edible treats, and give the gift of your time to help others.

First up for me is this beautiful, bright red, flavorful Cranberry-Apple Sauce. Truth be told, growing up I did not like cranberries at all. I couldn't even eat cranberry jelly, whether it was from a can or homemade. I just did not like the taste. Fast forward several years and depending on how they're prepared, I kinda love them. This Cranberry-Apple Sauce has become one of my favorite recipes during the holidays. Fresh cranberries are cooked with sweet honeycrisp apples, a little sugar, water, and a cinnamon stick until the flavors meld into one. It's quite fanastic if I do say so myself.

Cranberry Mojito

Impress your holiday guests  with this light, refreshing and delicious Cranberry Mojito cocktail!
Cranberry Mojito | The Chef Next Door

I love a good cocktail, especially during the holidays. I'm not one who really drinks that much, but it's nice to have a drink or two during parties or celebrations. This holiday season I wanted to create something light and refreshing, but still full of flavor. This Cranberry Mojito turned out to be exactly what I was looking for!

Made with light cranberry juice and DASANI sparkling water, this mojito is low in calories and sugar. DASANI sparkling water is the perfect mixer because it has ZERO calories, no added colors, is caffeine-free, and naturally flavored. It adds the perfect amount of flavor and bubbles to this cocktail! Add fresh mint, lime juice and whole cranberries and it not only looks festive, but tastes festive too.

This Sparkling Cranberry Punch is the perfect family friendly drink for your holiday gatherings!

We are in the throws of the holiday season, which means soon we will be going to, and hosting, several holiday parties. I love this season because it means I get to see so many friends and family that I don't normally get to see throughout the year. It's unfortunate, but true, as life keeps us busy and moving in so many different directions. That's why I love to cook and bake for my parties. I want my guests to feel the love through my creations.

I love to have a signature drink at my gatherings. Rather than having to be a server throughout the party, it's nice to have a drink prepared and ready for my friends. This Sparkling Cranberry Punch is perfect for any occasion, and great for all ages. Want to make it a cocktail rather than a mocktail? Add a shot of vodka and you're good to go!

Chicken Cranberry Walnut Pizza with Goat Cheese

Goat cheese and cranberry sauce pair perfectly with chicken and walnuts for an exciting change to our pizza routine!
Easy and quick to make, it's a winner on pizza night!

No matter the time of year, I'm always in the mood for pizza. It's part of our weekly routine to get pizza delivery sometime during the weekend, whether it's Friday or Saturday night depends on our schedules. I really enjoy making homemade pizza too, so sometimes I'll do that instead. I enjoy changing the toppings up - it could be just cheese or pepperoni, other times I'll make BBQ Chicken or Chicken Alfredo. It's fun to put some twists on the traditional toppings.

Recently I decided to create a new pizza that symbolized Fall. Not the usual pumpkin, sweet potato, apple flavors that I've been working with a lot lately. I wanted something different. Going with cranberry was the best decision I made for this pizza! Delicious cranberry sauce is the base, topped with shredded chicken, walnuts, crumble of goat cheese and fresh rosemary. That pizza has Fall written all over it!
