Hey friends! I hope you all had a fabulous long weekend. I apologize for being kind of quiet, but life has been crazy busy over here. This past weekend I didn't do much relaxing, I worked a bunch outside getting ready for E's graduation party this Saturday. There is so. much. to. do. We pulled weeds, planted flowers, prettied up the landscaping, and so on. It was a hard few days on my old back I'll tell you that! But the yard looks great and that's one less thing to worry about. Starting tomorrow I'll be focusing on cooking since my mom and I are making all the food for the party. Pulled pork, summer salads galore, fruits, veggies, and yummy desserts. I'm tired just thinking about it!

You all know how much I love my popcorn. It's not just for enjoying on special occasions, I eat popcorn all of the time! It's one of my favorite snacks and I have a bowl just about every night. In honor of National Popcorn Day, which was January 19th, I wanted to share some facts with you about my favorite snack, as well as a new recipe.

Popcorn is a healthy, whole grain snack food and it has no artificial additives or preservatives. It's sugar free and gluten free, plus it's low in fat and calories! I have a stovetop popcorn popper that I adore and use quite often, but when I'm short on time I also use the microwave. Whatever way you make it, it's a great snack choice for you and your family!

Now that my boys have grown up on me (hello, one is 20 and the other is 17...how can that be?!), it's sometime hard to get time with them. You know how teenagers are, they love spending time with their friends, they go out, they may actually get girlfriends (how could they??), and overall it just seems like they're not home as much. {My oldest is away at college so I definitely don't get to see him as often!} But when they are home, we love watching movies or sports together, as well as playing video games. I'm not very good at most of the games, but they still let me play along so they have someone to laugh at. 😉

It's that time again...time for the kids to go back to school! I don't know about you, but for me the summer flew by. I mean REALLY flew by! It seems like just yesterday summer started, and here we are at the beginning of a new school year. This year is a tough one for me. My youngest started his senior year of high school, and my oldest will be moving into his first apartment and starting his junior year in college. Where are my babies??? That's what I want to know!

Well regardless of how old my kiddos are getting, it's still very important for me to feed them nutritious meals and snacks. They are still growing boys you know! My high schooler still packs a lunch most days and I love to include a fun treat or sweet snack for him to enjoy at the end of his meal. I've been a massive fan of SkinnyPop Popcorn for quite some time {and I can wolf down a bag in no time at all!}, so I created a fun snack mix for him to take to school. Let's be real though, it's really for the whole family to enjoy!
