Easy Strawberry Frozen Yogurt {Frozen Month}

Easy Strawberry Frozen Yogurt {Frozen Month}

Since August is frozen month for my Blogger Food Challenge group I've really upped my game in the frozen department. From creating new ice cream recipes to frozen pies, I've had a blast!

This strawberry frozen yogurt is super simple to make, plus it's amazingly delicious. My son and I were taste testing the strawberry mixture before it was turned frozen and I swear we could have drank the whole bowl!! LOL

5 ingredients is all it takes to make this delicious strawberry frozen yogurt. And the best part is, you can change this up by simply selecting different fresh fruits. Blueberries, blackberries and raspberries would all work well as substitutes. Use what you have on hand!

Ingredients:
4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and cut in half
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp each lime zest and lime juice
1 Tbsp pure vanilla extract
1 cup Greek yogurt

Add the strawberries, sugar, lime zest and lime juice to a bowl and gently toss to combine. Cover with plastic wrap and let the strawberries macerate at room temperature for one hour.

Add the strawberries along their juices to the bowl of a food processor. Pulse the berries a few times to break them up. Add the vanilla  and yogurt and continue to blend on high speed until smooth.

Cover the strawberry mixture and place it in the refrigerator to chill for about an hour.

Turn your ice cream machine on and pour in the chilled strawberry yogurt mixture. Let it mix about 15-20 minutes until the mixture has thickened.

Put the frozen yogurt in an airtight container and place it in the freezer for several hours until hard enough to scoop.

Bon Appetit!
